I picked a great day to go to the doctor, despite HER presence. When I arrived at the office around 12:15 pm for my 12:30 pm appointment, there was only 2 others in the waiting room!
Score! On any given day there’s usually at least 5 or 6 people ahead of me. It may have had something to do with it being lunchtime and the doc not actually being there, lol. She came in the door a few minutes later, thankfully!
I gave her the rundown on my intermittent fasting; she thinks I should at least have some OJ or a piece of toast when I first wake up and then wait until dinner if I want to, but that sort of defeats the purpose.
She didn’t give me too much grief about it, though. I lost 11 lbs since the last time I was there, but my blood pressure is still high.
Nothing new, it’s been high since I was an infant and nobody knows why. Even my RX diuretics don’t bring it down, yet sometimes it’s completely normal. I theorize my hormonal dysfunction plays a role in it, so lots of testing needs to be done. Fun, fun!
Wait, no, that’s not fun! What’s fun is getting a Valentine’s Day
present from your hubby when you return home from the doctor’s office!!
!!! A food spiralizer!! I’ve wanted one of these for awhile now, he must have found it in my Amazon wish list. So excited!! Can’t wait to try it out.
We also picked a great time to eat out: 3:30pm in between lunch and dinner crowds. We chose Ship to Shore in Kingston for our Valentine’s dinner. We went there for an our anniversary once and loved it.
There was only one other group of people when we arrived! As we were leaving just before 5:00 pm more people started to arrive.
My date
What’s he looking at?
Oh, hi
Blah. I hate pictures when she’s in town.
At least we had a window seat with a lot of natural light for the food pics!
I used my cell phone camera. I expected a crowded restaurant, so I didn’t bother to bring the Rebel to avoid stares.
The bread basket of doooooooooooooooooooooom!!
I had one looooooooooooong piece, which is like having 3 regular pieces, I guess. heh
I started with a house salad. Midway through I started to feel full between that, the bread, and water.
Uh oh!
For my entree, I had the lobster and chanterelle mushroom risotto with sweet peas.
Dustin had the aged sirloin with sugar snap peas and truffle mashed potatoes. He shared a few bites with me. Yum!
The lobster + mushroom risotto was phenomenal! Loved it, but I couldn’t finish it all. Well, I did finish the lobster tail, aka the best part.
After our romantic dinner, we went to Mother Earth’s Storehouse being we were in the neighborhood. Best time to go is when you’re full, lol. That strategy worked! I only picked up maybe 8 small items. When we got home there was another delivery for me!
This time it was a box of chocolate covered strawberries from Shari’s Berries from Dustin!!
I never expected these! I requested that Dustin NOT buy me flowers this year. I love them, but I just had some for my birthday not-so-long ago. So I guess he found a replacement plant: strawberries! LOL So cute! I had three of them. Glad we declined dessert after dinner at Ship to Shore. These were fabulous! And Dustin doesn’t even like strawberries, so they’re all for me.
I shared one with my mom, she’s the ones who tipped Dustin off to these. Gotta love teamwork!!

Question: Is the weather warming up where you are? I see signs of spring! It was such a lovely day yesterday —50F degrees!! Maybe the groundhog was right, early spring? Not loving the melting snow and mud fest out there, though! Our car needs major detailing. Winter filth city! I think the guy who cleans it is going to deserve a huge tip, lol.

I requested that scott not buy me flowers either! i told him we need to save money (or buy chocolate…lol) not flowers that die. Sounds so harsh of me, but glad to know you pretty much said the same thing…hah!
