I think Bed Bath & Beyond should actually be Bed Kitchen & Beyond!! They seem to have a much larger section of kitchen than bath, but I guess B B B sounds better as a name.
Anyway, did I mention that I love that store?! I do! I go there at least once a month for one (20) things or another.
I also appreciate their customer service. We bought my mom one of those Mint robot floor cleaners for her birthday (she’s obsessed with vacuums, trust me, it was an appropriate gift), but it wasn’t exactly what we were expecting. We have all hardwood and marble tile floors downstairs, so it sounded great, but the sweep pad basically pushed the dirt and dust bunnies around, even though it was pretty thorough and got between nooks and crannies very impressively. And the mop pad hardly cleaned and kept getting bunched up on the tile surface and struggled to move. Bummer! Was really hoping it would have worked like it showed on TV. When I saw that Kath bought a Shark Vac Then Steam the other day and mentioned that she printed a 20% off coupon for it when she subscribed to BB&B’s mailing list, I knew that we had to return the Mint and trade it in for a Shark that my mom said she actually wanted but didn’t say anything about! So, I signed up for their mailing list, printed my coupon for 20% off of one item, and told my mom about the plan. She was excited, and I was glad that I saved the receipt.
So, last night, Dustin and I headed out to BB&B in Kingston where we originally bought it. We could have gone to the one in Middletown, but you know what else is in Kingston: Mother Earth’s!
We brought it in and the girl at the customer service counter was very friendly and said that we could absolutely exchange it for other items. Yay! They had a whole stack of Sharks in the middle of the floor—yay, again! But the Shark ($149) was actually $50 less than the Mint ($199) and with 20% off the Mint would be only $119, leaving some extra leftover.
Of course they’d just credit the rest back to our bank, but let’s be realistic, LOL. Me in BB&B with $80 already accounted for, it’s time to shop! Unfortunately, I left the coupon that I printed at home on my desk!!! Doh! *hand to forehead* Sigh. My $80 in accounted-for BB&B money dwindled to $50 leftover. But get this: The girl said that I can bring in the coupon another time and they’ll give me the credit back or I can use store-credit!!! BB&B rocks! Love their return policies and excellent customer support. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes in line and their employees are always helpful and courteous. Oh, and they have cleanly restrooms.
With the $50 leftover, I bought a box of snap and lock storage containers—which I always seem to need more of—and a summery striped dish and a new Misto cooking oil pump-sprayer. I’ll probably bring the coupon in to the store in Middletown this weekend. Will I be a good girl and ask for the credit back to our bank or will I be a naughty girl and spend the remaining $30 in the store? We’ll see I guess! LOL Depends on what’s new in the spring/summer lineup.
I skipped Mother Earth’s, I didn’t really need anything, I opted for ShopRite to pick up some fresh produce. We stopped for dinner at the Alexis Diner in Newburgh first. I don’t feel like Alexis is a typical greasy spoon, they have a lot of fresh and wholesome options on their menu, plus they bring me olive oil + vinegar bottles to dress my own salad.
I didn’t have my camera with me, just cell phone pics. Sorry! I know they’re cheesy, especially because my hands are so jittery and it takes pics soooo slowly compared to my Rebel.
I ordered the grilled shrimp salad with oil + vinegar.
It was pretty delish. Not crazy about their vinegar, though. It’s very weak compared to the red wine vinegar and balsamic I use at home. Love super sour vinegar! I could swim in it. Mmmm!
I didn’t do intermittent fasting yesterday, probably because Aunt Flo rolled into town and I just wasn’t in the mood. I was in the mood for peanut butter + chocolate, though!!
Other Buys
ShopRite in Middletown had Fage Total (full-fat) 6oz container yogurts on sale—4 for $1!!!
They only had the Total (full-fat) on sale, though. I bought 4 of them. I should pick up a few more. That’s insanely cheap! They’re usually $1.50+ EACH. Maybe I”ll go back tomorrow and get a few more. Only downside is that the expiration date on them is March 15th, however, Fage yogurt stays good weeks longer than its expiration date. I let my sniffer and taste buds guide me, and in my experience, I’ve found them to be edible at least 2-3 weeks beyond expiration.
I restocked my produce stash; kale, romaine, baby spinach, asparagus, bananas, avocado, oyster mushrooms, and a bunch of other plants that eludes me at the moment.
Oh! I found Pretzel Crisps by the produce department!! YES! So excited that ShopRite carries them! I bought two bags.
I also bought canned tuna and sardines, dry nay beans, chocolate pecan turtle candies, cheese, and 100% whole wheat rolls from the bakery. I really should have taken loot pics! hehe
Question: Did you buy anything this week that you’re excited about?

I have bought plenty this week. Per our email
BB & B is a money suck! you HAVE to walk into that place with just a clear vision or you get trapped in retail buy-buy-buy mode. Not that that’s a bad thing, entirely, either
I agree, Bed Bath & Beyond has SO many kitchen gadgets and other great items. I rarely go there for Bed and Bath.
I did buy something I was excited about: I got my sister a gift card for Chico’s. Hope she buys something really nice with it!
I am obsessed with Bed (Kitchen) & Beyond, haha! I could spend days in there…no joke. Amazing finds on the yogurt – 4 for $1?! Sign me up, especially since everything seems to be getting so expensive these days because of gas prices…yikes.
Have a great day
Happy Friday!
4 for $1 Fage??? Let me pick me jaw up off the floor. (haha) What a great savings! I get really frustrated with food prices in Boston. Some stores sell Chobani for over $2 per container. Much too expensive!
I haven’t been to Bed, Bath & Beyond in awhile because it’s trouble for me.
Not too much purchasing for me this week besides groceries and hubby’s bday gift, I got a new camera strap last week that I adore because it mounts under my camera making it wasier and safer to wear cross body.
I’m excited about the 2lbs of nutritional yeast I bought online!! Can’t wait til it comes
And I wish we had Bed Bath and Beyond here! Could spend hours there…

I tried commenting yesterday, but I can’t leave comments on certain blogs because of the spam blacker/word verifications things, I think. I’m not sure! Makes me mad, though!
I love pretzel thins and have a hard time finding them, too! And BBB…love it. My best friend worked there in HS…too bad I didn’t love to cook then so I could use her awesome employee discount!

Jenn, I’ve discovered a supermarket in the NYC area that puts all others *to SHAME.* If you’ve never been to Fairway Market, you. must. go. The store is like 80,000 square feet, FILLED with everything a foodie could ever want: giNORmous produce section including a MASSIVE stock of organic foods/salads/hard-to-find stuff, bulk bins, bakery, separate aisles for both “traditional” and organic/imported/specialty foods, a sushi counter, fish section, gluten-free aisle, ridiculous selection of artisanal cheeses (for which they’re known), deli counters w/ eating area…. I could go on and on. The one I went to was in Pelham Manor, but they have a few locations, including some in NYC. I used to think it was all hype, but I’ve seriously never experienced anything like it! I literally couldn’t think of any item they -didn’t- have, lol. I mean, they even had the entire Amy’s Kitchen frozen line, Field Roast, Daiya, Ezekiel… and every non-dairy dessert and kosher item known to man. And, regarding cow dairy–to quote the person I went with: “I’ve never seen so much yogurt in my life!” Haha. An entire aisle! And GOOD prices. Anyway, I felt it was my duty to tell you; needless to say, you’ve gotta check it out!!

OMG, Sarah! Thank you so much for reminding me!!!! My mom saw a commercial for it on TV, then sent me a YouTube link a few months ago. I thought it looked fabulous, but figured it would be just another Whole Foods. But now after your description it sounds like WF on steroids! LOL I already wanted to visit it, but now I want to LIVE in it! hahaha Definitely going now! Definitely. Thanks again! This is my husband’s worst nightmare. ha!
This might qualify as my birthday present for the year if I love it too much.
Can’t wait to blog about it! It sounds amazing. So excited! YAY!
