Hello from Starbucks!
Home of the free wifi and a $3 buck “small” lemonade, haha. Is it just me or did the "tall” size get smaller?
We’re alive and well, yay! The storm really wasn’t too bad in our area, but some of the heavy winds took our cable out. So we’re without internet, TV, and home phone.
Kind of sucks considering we work from home, so it’s not just inconvenient, it’s also costing us time and money. Time Warner said “they’re working on it.” But apparently only a few roads were affected in our subdivision, so I’m guessing we aren’t exactly priority. We’re still lucky, though! So thankful that we didn’t lose power or water!! My heart goes out to those who did. Check out my last post on surviving in a power outage if you need some tips on getting through it.
We’re in Middletown right now. Just went to the AT&T store and Verizon wireless to see what kind of deals they had for mobile hotspot modems, but nothing sounded good enough to get into a contract for. We’ll just come here and other wifi spots until it’s back at home. It’s not so bad! Plus we get to get out of the house like real people, hehe.
This lemonade tastes salty? Blah. It doesn’t taste good. Too sweet with a salty tang. I like super bitter lemonade with stevia extract. Yum!
We’ve been eating well, as usual. And I have pics of things we’ve been eating, but they’ll have to wait until my next update because I left my memory card at home.
We’re hoping our cable is back by tomorrow, but who knows. We’re catching up with our reading and DVD collection. Last night we watch Fried Green Tomatoes and Braveheart. Both fantastic flicks.
I don’t have much left on my battery because I had it in energy-hog mode (full brightness). I think I see outlets… they let you use them? I’m a wifi newb. Rarely use it outside of home.
Starbucks is closing in 40 mins, so we’re going to go grab a bite to eat someplace else. It’s chilly in here, too. I should have gotten a warm drink. Maybe tomorrow.
Hope everyone affected by the storm is doing well! Did you have any significant damage or flooding? Was it scary? Honestly, at its worst it wasn’t much unlike any other typical storm to us. The winds were just a little stronger. Our area in general withstood Irene’s wrath pretty well, thankfully. I’m thinking of all of those that are without power and have home damage. Stay strong! Things will get better.

Glad to hear that the storm didn’t get too bad over there. We’re in Delaware and where we live we had a mandatory evacuation, so we spent Saturday in DC. There is a lot of flooding and trees down here, but luckily our house had no damage at all
Hi Jenn, so glad to hear the storm wasn’t too bad. And hope your kitties weren’t too spooked by it all. Boo about the no internet/phone/tv. HOPEFULLY you’re back up and running soon. Take care.
