Guess what? I left my new Nikon Coolpix camera at the hotel in Florida!! Luckily, they found it and are shipping it, but I cannot believe I left it there. I really thought I thoroughly inspected every nook and cranny before we left, but it must have been in the one nook or cranny that I missed. Thankfully it wasn’t my Canon Rebel or something more expensive, like my wedding ring that I lost at a hotel in Ohio last year along with my entire makeup bag. I’m on my third wedding band, by the way.
I seem to be developing a bad habit of leaving things in hotel rooms. Not good! I obviously need more practice traveling. Or maybe my traveling license should be revoked indefinitely? lol
I am still sorting out pictures on my Canon Rebel. Translated: Too lazy/busy to deal with it right now, resorting to cell phone camera for everything photo-related.
We went to restore our fresh food supplies at Shop Rite last night. I loaded up on the fresh produce <3 And yes that is three 2 litre bottles of soda in the cart. They were on sale for .99 cents and with the holidays around the corner, you never know when company will stop by and I like to have something to offer people. Not everyone is down with seltzer and lemon juice or unsweetened iced tea, ya know?
I bought several pieces of hard cheeses, too. I’ve been loving pecorino and parmesan lately. Salty but a little goes a long way.
Today, Dustin, mom, and I brought my grandmother to Albany Medical Center, about 1 hour 45 minutes from here. My grandmother is having “brain” surgery next Friday to remove a non-cancerous mass that’s resting on her brain. Dustin and I offered to accompany my mom on the trip being she’s unfamiliar with the area and Dustin navigates the unknown with ease. It’s the least we can do. We were super tired, slept only 3 hours last night, but life goes on and time stops for nobody and yada yada. She had to do all of her pre-admission things and have some testing. Everything went well. After that, we took gram to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch. She’s never been there and was pretty impressed by it, lol. So cute. So sheltered and cute. haha
Today was probably one of the worst days to go there; a federal holiday, so everyone and their kids and their cousin visiting from South Dakota were out and about and seemingly eating at the Cheesecake Factory. The wait was 50 minutes! Nowhere to sit either. My gram danced with a random baby while we waited, she seemed entertained, lol.
We started with the avocado egg rolls and thai chicken lettuce wraps:
I had half of an avocado egg roll and one lettuce cup. The lettuce cups were good but not nearly as good as the Korean pork lettuce wrap I had at Epcot!! I have been craving lettuce wraps ever since then. Can’t get enough of them! So good.
I shared the beet and goat cheese with arugula salad with grandma and mom found on their small plates menu…
Just a few bites, didn’t finish it. It was delicious, though!!
For my entrée, I had the grilled fish tacos…
They came with black beans and rice…
I had two of the tacos and 3 or 4 bites of the rice + beans. The tacos were good, but not the best I’ve ever had. This was my only meal for the day, so I indulged in a bit of everything, including cheesecake to go, as if I’m still on vacation. I chose the white chocolate caramel macadamia nut and it is DIVINE! I had 3 bites when we got home, saving the rest for the next few days. The 50-minute wait was worth it just for that.
Time to start cutting back now. Going to resume some carb-cycling and calorie-cycling and IF and eating more of my beloved veggies. It’s been a fun 10 days, but the mouth party has to come to an end some time. Thankfully I haven’t gained any weight! I maintained on vacation but I’m still puffy and bloated from all of the salty foods, so I would not be surprised to see a drop when I begin eating “normally” again. Sounds good to me. With the holidays and my birthday coming, now is a good time to take a break and eat as healthfully as possible. Right about now a raw + juice diet sounds pretty darn good, but that’s just the dehydrated sodium puff monster in me, haha.
11-11-11 <—that’s nerdy hot. The last binary day for a long, long time. Aww. Next year my birthday is 12-12-12 – how COOL is THAT?! Love it. Looking forward to saying it all year. But then again, it will be my 33rd birthday… so… lol
Off to get a decent night’s sleep!
