Apparently Dream Host was having issues from last night until just a little while ago and many sites, including mine, have been down since last night. My apologies to anyone who could not load my blog today! I’m glad that it’s back up now, but down for nearly 24 hours? Not good! If there was anything I could have done to fix the issue, I assure you I would have done so immediately. It took awhile to get a response from DreamHost, so I had no idea why it was down either. Let’s hope it’s 100% resolved now!
Yesterday, on Dustin’s “day off,” he cut out stencils that we’re going to use for a Ron Paul project. And no, (sadly) it’s not a pink project, heh.
Then, we went to Middletown to pick up a “few” things from Hannaford. One of my favorite aisles in that store is the one with the clearance items. They offer a lot of great stuff that’s just a few weeks “out of season,” like Christmas baking supplies, but they usually have expiration dates that are pretty far off.
I scored some neat items this time: Enormous 10.58 oz Lindt chocolate bricks bars for $3/each and a bag of Bob’s Red Mill xanthan gum (gluten-free) for only $2.75!
I searched online and the cheapest I could find Bob’s Red Mill xanthan gum was for $11/8 oz bag on the company’s web site; so $2.75 is a steal!
I got 4 bars of bittersweet Lindt chocolate, and one milk chocolate (Dustin’s choice). I love that the bittersweet is dairy-free, which is fantastic. One more way for me to reduce dairy in my life, I’m all for it.
I can use the bittersweet for so many goodies; chocolate-covered… anything! Or I could chop it into chunks and put it in cookies or muffins or ice cream or… anything! hehe Pretty excited about it.
We stopped at Panera Bread to pick up something quick for dinner. I went with their tuna salad on three cheese bread…
Dustin hasn’t eaten land animals in over a month now. He has taken on a pescetarian diet, which means the only meat he eats is seafood, so we have been eating a lot of seafood this month, which I love! I like this way of eating and will elaborate on it in future posts.
It came with a dill pickle spear and we both chose apples for our side item, but we don’t eat them because they’re kind of funky, lol. We feed them to the birds and whatever animals want to nibble on them.
I’ve never had a bad sandwich from Panera Bread! Everything they make is SO tasty! Mainly the bread.
The tuna salad is a mayo bomb, but it still tasted good and I’d order it again. Their tap water on the other hand… BLEK! Tastes awful at the Middletown store.
I just ate a bunch of crisp red grapes; they’re on sale at Shop Rite so I picked some up today and now my tummy hurts from the little fructose bomb I just inhaled, lol. So yummy, though! Grapes MUST be crisp or I won’t eat them. Mushy grapes = GROSS
Off to go see what’s on Tivo and put fresh clean sheets on the bed. I’m a huge fan of freshly scented, clean sheets, so I try to wash and change them at least 3-4x a week – how about you?
Hope everyone had a great weekend! Here’s to a great week ahead.
ETA: Thanks to everyone for the well-wishes for mom!
She’s doing better but still not back to full health. She’s complaining of her head pain returning again today. She’s seeing a rheumatologist on Tuesday, and hopefully will get an appointment with her new PCP (primary) by mid-week. Hopefully we’ll know more by the end of this week. She’s in good spirits, but understandably bored and frustrated with bed rest. She keeps trying to do more than she should, and I think it’s contributing to her symptoms worsening. We need a baby monitor AND some straps to hold her in place. She’s a feisty one!

J3nn how is Mom? That’s first and foremost. Sheets? They get changed every Sunday without fail.

Thanks for asking j! I meant to update on her, but because my blog was down I lost my train of thought on my update. She’s doing better but still not great. Her head pain is back today. She has an appointment with a rheumatologist on Tuesday and I’m hoping to get her into her new primary care phys. by Wednesday latest. She’s hanging in there! Just a waiting game at this point. Frustrating.

Ugh so sorry about the DH situation! That’s awful. For some reason I thought you were with another host (you sent me the name a long time ago, but can’t recall the name…) but anyway, there is nothing more frustrating than that “my hands are tied” at their mercy and can’t do a thing to fix your own problem – type of feeling!
Glad your mom is doing better – hope she fully recovers soon!! I’m with ya on the crisp grapes…like my apples crisp too – yuck mushy apples!!!! Clean sheets are the best!!!!!!! Nothing beats that first nights sleep on the clean sheets – ahhhhhh!!! once or twice a week ……… wish it was more – but I have 3 kids – laundry is never ending as it is at my house!
Wow, that’s a total steal on Xantham gum – I don’t remember why I needed it, but decided it was way too much $$!
I am so behind on my blog reading – but seeing the comments on this post, hope your Mom is feeling better – off to read some of your older posts.
I saw your Ron Paul picture on Kath’s blog, so I had to comment! Yeah!! Ron Paul!!

Yay! That’s awesome. Thanks! Love to hear from other RP fans.
I would have loved to see the image of the chocolate bar with its packing removed
. I love eating healthy sandwiches but one would not be enough for me for dinner. I believe in natural therapy. Hence, I suggest that your mom must walk on grass without footwear. This heals headaches.
Glad to read your Mom is on the mend Jenn!!!! Fantastic scores on the chocolate and flour! YAY!!! Bargains are the best. Hope your week goes well.
