No secret: I buy a freakin’ lot of good amount of stuff.
I’m a modern-day hunter-gatherer. I like buying new stuff and old favorites. I especially like useful stuff. Things that make life better and easier. I’m always on the lookout for bargains and new products to try. Sometimes my inventory grows when I receive samples from sponsors or when I’m given a gift.
Addicted to Amazon.com? Yeah, I need an intervention. heh
They just have SO MUCH COOL SHIZNIT! Subscribing to Amazon Prime was one of the greatest decisions ever.
This week’s deliveries from Amazon.com:
Navitas Naturals nori raw sheets
Irish moss (sea vegetable)
This is a really good video to watch on how to use Irish Moss:
I bought it because there are a lot of recipes, mainly vegan ones, that I want to try it in. The pound I bought will probably last me a year or more. It makes a ton of gel and it’s very good for you. I’m trying to add more sea vegetables into my diet, so this stuff is pretty cool and I’m happy to welcome it to my inventory.
Nut milk bag to make nut milk. Dustin’s maturity showed when I told him what this was. LOL
Iodine supplementation is all the rage around the health-seeker faction of the interwebs, but I have read it’s best to introduce it slowly, in small amounts. Supposedly many Americans don’t get enough of it in their diet but it’s very beneficial to thyroid (metabolic) health and other vital body processes, including Aunt Flo and depression and a long list of other things.
It piqued my interest, so I’m going to give it a try and see if I have any noticeable improvements or adverse side effects. I’m going to simultaneously increase my sea vegetable intake, hence my new favorite snack: plain Nori sheets and nori wraps. I’ll keep you updated on it. It’s a new area of interest to me, so I don’t want to get too much into it just yet. I still have some research and experimenting to do.
The large box within the box was a 3-pack of Dustin’s favorite gluten-free cereal: Koala Crisp
Another huge canister of nutritional yeast. I love this stuff! I put it on everything I can lately; zucchini, pasta, rice, popcorn. It’s deliciously cheezy and a nutritional powerhouse. SO GOOD.
My favorite cooking and baking fat: Spectrum 100% organic palm fruit “vegetable” shortening
I use it for all my cooking and baking. It’s fantastic. Flavor-neutral and one of the healthiest fats you can consume. It’s great for deep-frying, sauteing, melting and drizzling on popcorn, and baking. I love it!
The Hannaford clearance section is one of my favorite parts of the store. They always have some hot bargains, like these two gems:
Two-piece cooling racks, regularly $6.99
Only $3.50!!!
And this nice bar pan, regularly $10.99
Half price! Only $5.50. What a steal!
They have a lot of undesirable things in the clearance section, like 50 jars of minced meat. Eww. WTF IS THAT?
I’ll stick to the chocolate bars and these kitchen gems.
This Sunbeam donut maker was an impulse buy at Target.
It called out to me, I answered. I didn’t think I’d ever have a need for a donut maker. I mean, I have a donut pan that I haven’t used yet. But it was just too cute to resist. I have thought of several recipes for it, so I’m kind of excited about it now! Cake donuts aren’t my favorite but maybe that’s because I haven’t had any that I made and knew what was in them. Maybe I changed my mind after seeing SO MANY awesome looking donut maker recipes around the food blog world. It’s hard to not want to get in there and give it a try when they look SO GOOD. hehe
What have you bought lately? Are you an Amazon addict? Maybe we need AA; Amazonians Anonymous, anyone?

I’ve been EYEING those square muffin tins for the longest time. You are so right about Amazon Prime. I LOVE GETTING PACKAGES IN THE MAIL. It’s like receiving presents year round
Your purchases look so FUN!
I know! Getting everyday things I’d ordinarily buy at the store from UPS is like Christmas year-round! LOL

I am going to be blogging about more donut and muffin-maker recipes coming up…just got a new cookbook for the makers, specifically, so that’s going to happen!
And I love all your goodies…that nooch, is the exact one I use.
Can you believe I don’t own cookie cooking racks?! I just cool on trays, then onto a cutting board, which does double duty of pre-staging for photography. lol
Because of all this cool stuff, this is why I DON’T need a subscription to Amazon Prime
My mom and I didn’t own any cooling racks until I started making xmas cookies and realized how useful they are. Super useful for drizzling. I also like to free up my limited baking trays if I’m doing mega loads, ha.
i buy everything in bulk on amazon!! my next purchase is a pound of numi’s jasmine tea.
i’m kind of intimidated by that irish moss. i definitely want to see what you do with it!
You can’t beat Prime! Getting 6 packages of something shelf-stable with “free” shipping is fantastic. I used to be intimidated by the large quantities, but Dustin encourages it because it’s often more cost-effective than single retail purchases. One-click purchases on the other hand… hahaha. Not so much.

I LOVE amazon prime.
and use it all the time.
it makes me spontaneously rhyme.
I wish everything only cost a dime.
BUT I didn’t know about the clearance section? I am *sigh* going there Right Now!!
I have Amazon prime and an Amazon Chase card, so the two go together like peanut butter and jelly! I just got a package today with some fabric markers and some velcro to make dog collars. I buy everything from Amazon
I am going to look for that yeast around here and if I don’t find it I know where I can get it!
I dont know why but I still think of amazon as a place to buy books and CDs, I need to get out of my old fashion ways and appreciate that it can save me a fair bit of time if I actually look around the place more!
