These
are some of my favorite diet related, health, nutrition, recipe, forum,
and/or useful tools & resource sites:
(In no particular order)
- TheCalorieCounter.com
- Great
site to find out how many calories in food and beverages -- even shows
cooked or raw versions.
- NutrientFacts.com
- Another great site to find calories in food/drink.
- Calorie-count.com
-
This is an About.com spin-off, that has a searchable food
database, message boards, food trackers, etc. Lots of interesting
stuff there.
- TheDailyPlate.com
-
Another site that offers food trackers, forums, food database of nutritional
info.
- SparkPeople.com
- Awesome site with loads of great health and diet articles, forums,
food tracking, meal plans etc.
- Calorieking.com
- Another popular food and beverage calorie/nutritional info database
to search.
- How
Stuff Works.com (diet) - Wondering how weight loss happens?
Start there!
- Zigzag
calorie calculator - By freedieting.com -- offers a cool
tool to figure out how many calories you need to lose, maintain, or
gain weight based on the variables you enter. It even has the 7 day
zigzag option; which will tell you how many calories you can have
if you want to calorie cycle.
- BMI
calculator - This webpage features the Harris Benedict
Equation to figure your daily energy expenditure.
- "the
6000 calorie a day diet" - Interesting blog entry
about 'pigging out' one day a week. I don't know if it's true, but
I found it to be believable.
- Food
Network - I love to find recipes that make me drool and
make lighter, healthier versions of them -- or even just make the
real version on occassion.

MYTH: "Eating after a certain time of day turns to fat." FALSE! Your body burns calories round the clock.
